Frequently changing our mobile phones is something that a lot of us feel pressurised into doing. Every few months something new comes along and the fuss surrounding the new device convinces us that this is something that we just have to have. I feel like I have wasted a lot of money on mobile phones as I have spent a fortune on them over the years. Quite often I buy a new phone because it looks great and has plenty of new features, so I get rid of my old phone for one of these spanking new ones only to realise that I didn’t need any of these features once the novelty has worn off. The only thing I really ever use my mobile phone for is to make or receive phone calls and to make or receive texts.

 

However I do realise that over the years there really has been some amazing phones. The IPhone and Android phones in particular stand out for me. They have really advanced in terms of the functionality they offer but do we really need all these devices. These days I carry around at least three devices with me all the time which can allow me to surf on the web; my iPhone, my PSP, and my laptop. And with the introduction of the IPad, I really am itching to buy one of these and that would mean I would have another way to get online while I’m out and about.

 

I tell myself quite often that I am not going to buy any more of these devices because I really do have enough. But I know that I do not really mean this. I really do love all this new technology and I am a big fan of the improvements that are continuously being made all the time. One way which I might feel better about all the waste would be by donating my old mobile phones to a charity. But there is one thing I’m almost positive about; I will be first in the queue the next time a new device is launched.
