Find Original Art for a Starting Bid of $1 at an Online Auction!

Posted on May 1st, 2009 by Lindsey Harper

Are you an art love? I sure am! However, if there’s one factor about original art that prevents many people from owning it – it’s price. Original art is very expensive to collect.

You’re most likely familiar with live auctions where people bid on art. Those fancy auctions are not necessarily the places where you can get the best prices. But did you know that you can find original art for awe-inspiring prices at an auction site? You don’t have to be rich to collect great original art!

What do I mean by awe-inspiring prices? Take this gallery wrapped, ready to hang, original masterpiece, signed by the artist Leonid Afremov! The painting is oil on canvas and painted with a palette knife. This beautiful painting has been appraised at $3,500. Would you believe this painting began with only a $1 bid and its current bid is only at $30!

You should know that this online auction ends on May 2, so hurry! I have noticed that the $1 bid original art deals go very, very fast!

Free Shopping Sweepstakes

Online shopping alert. Here’s something different that I discovered while looking for discount shopping sites. TAG has a customers competition where you can win prizes of $75 cash each month just for shopping with one or more of the businesses who sponsor their site. Because it’s new not many shoppers are claiming their raffle tickets, so, for the customers who do, an entry into the raffle gives them the best odds of winning cash of any site I have ever seen.

On fossicking deeper into the site I learnt all about their free auction. This is no joke, it really is free. How they do it is very smart. Management have planned their free Internet auction so that members of the portal can sell their used items for TAG points to other members, as members accumulate more points, they can then trade up by bidding those points for more useful auction items. Members can bid their TAG points to bid on several cash auctions. Trust me when I say that they use points to win an auction of real cash to $100 or more in value. When these guys say they have a free auction they aren’t kidding.

The items available in the auction at the time I looked included jewellery, beach towels, money, books, perfume, make-up, gift vouchers for stores like Walmart, toys and other goods of real value. It appears to me that Trader Auction Games is trying to be a one-stop shop and doing a very good job of it.

In addition to the above, the site has a random prize draw where winners are drawn every few hours. Prizes include cash and other sponsored items from participating shops. As is now customary, Trader Auction Games has looked outside of the box in developing their random prize draw. The Trader Auction Games site guarantees that all members will be drawn to win prizes or gifts in the TAG City random members prize draw every two days. Winners are drawn in groups based on the starting letter of their login name. So, all the people whose names start with the letter F may be drawn this time, then 2 hours later all the members whose first names start with L may be drawn and so on until every letter in the alphabet has been drawn. That takes about 48 hours and then the entire process starts over again. Yes, there’s a trick, and that is that you only have a short period to claim your prize after your name has been selected. You can win up to $500 cash in the TAG City sweepstakes.

I rate the Trader Auction Games site five stars when it comes to shopping, games, competitions and free fun.
