Whilst looking for a great new HDTV to purchase, you will have seen varied special offers on both LCD and plasma HDTVs.  But what is the difference between plasma and LCD HDTVs?  The answer’s essentially more simple than you will imagine.  A great many people may imagine that you’d have to be rather well versed in technical jargon to understand the actual difference.  Not really so.  Let’s take a look at the real difference between plasma and LCD HDTVs for you shall we?.

O.K, let’s start with the fundamentals. The most important difference is the advantages each one is able to give individual consumers who need different things.  It’s these alternatives that may sway a customer’s call one way or another. It is necessary to think about these differences when choosing.

The first difference between plasma and LCD HDTVs is the screen dimensions that they’re available in. These things are different in display resolution greatly.  For example- Plasma TVs tend to range between 32 inches up to 60 inches whilst a LCD television usually goes from thirteen to forty two inches in size.  If you are after a smaller TV, then you would be best with the LCD HDTV.  If you’ve got the room for a bigger HDTV, then the plasma TV could be the more fitting option.

Of course, the size will not be the sole issue you would like to be pondering.  There are other features to think about before making a decision on the HDTV that is the most suitable for yourself.  LCD TVs for example have a tendency to feature a fixed angle viewpoint, which suggests you will have to shift the television about to achieve the finest view for yourself, yet plasma TVs don’t have this restriction, and will look good at all angles you have it at.

Whilst different materials and other things are featured in the 2 different formats, but the issue of that fixed angle perspective is an important thing to take into account when pondering the difference between plasma and LCD HDTVs.  Other things to consider include life span of your hardware, screen burns and other matters that can plague these types of HDTVs.
