Many people have taken to collecting various types of medieval weaponry. These weapons can be found in various shapes, sizes, and colors for you to pick from, but which one should you choose? I wrote this article to tell you about the more commonly seen types of medieval weapons you may find. I’ll explain fierce weapons like: maces, axes, flails, swords, and even pole weaponry.

The medieval axe has a large viscous looking head affixed onto a short wooden handle. Men could use these weapons to cut down trees and people. Many of these weapons were modified to have a short lance like tip on the end for jabbing movements.

Medieval maces are blunt instruments used for smashing enemies to death. They have long wooden handles with large metal balls on the end. The end has spikes coming out of it to cut into enemies upon impact.

Pole weapons were used for long range mellee combat. These weapons consisted of javelins, lances, halberts, and even tridents. They are the hardest medieval weapons to display as they take up the largest amount of space in a room. However, you will find that displaying this type of medieval weapon is much more unique and satisfying.

Medieval daggers are small weapons used for extreme close combat situations. Warriors would bring these weapons with them into battle as secondary weapons used for blocking and stabbing. These weapons can also be used like the modern day swiss army knife is used, for cutting food and repairing gear. The small amount of space daggers take up makes them great display weapons.

The medieval fighting sword is probably the most popular medieval weapon ever created. This weapon was a great mid range weapon to fight with and was used by some of the most powerful armies of the middle ages. The use and display of this type of weapon is very popular. You can not go wrong buying a medieval sword to display.

Medieval flails are weapons consisting of a long wooden handle with a length of chain hooked to it. The chain ends with a large spiked ball for smashing and cutting purposes. This weapon was great for fighting because the person wielding the weapon could stay away from enemies with short weapons.
