Nineteen seventy-five was a year that saw great social change and innovations in technology that would forever change the way that the world does everything. The first microcomputer was released sparking the modern era of computers and information processing. The Viking 1 mission sent a spacecraft into the depths of the universe to explore the distant planet of Mars. From the Jura Mountains of Switzerland, in a town known for its creativity and beauty, Maurice Lacroix swiss watches were came alive.

In all of our history, humankind has always had a desire to improve on everything we do. It started off with a how and a why, and has continued on to how it can be done better. This desire is what makes our technology and modernization what it is today.

Pursuing goals of space travel or computers would not have been possible without first learning Agriculture. It is agriculture that allowed people to not have to worry so much about survival. It made food more readily available. Hunting took up a lot of time in the past. With the knowledge of ranching, animals did not have to be tracked down across great distances.

Once the basics were conquered it was on to greater pursuits. Complexity was added to the basics. Instead of just cooking meat people began to add spices. This made it possible to have more than one flavor for one type of meal. This knowledge led to cooking. Instead of one type of clothing, people wanted to express themselves, and fashion was born. Wanting to know more about the Earth led to migration and exploration. This desire for exploration eventually led us into the stars.

The thought of the times is reflected in the arts. Society is also moved by the progress of the sciences. Both science and art comprise the works of the professional craftsman. It is the craftsman’s duty to produce quality and keep that tradition of fine work. This is why it has always been difficult to determine whether a craftsman follows science or is an artist. There is almost no distinction between those in the profession.

Passing on information from one generation to another has always been a key factor in development. Our history has been told in stories by telling them to younger generations. The handing down of possessions and the history that they represent has always represented the advancing of life and learning. From one generation to the next, family heirlooms have always carried the history of a family.

All of these accomplishments would not have been possible without the mastery of time. The one ability that ties all of humanities passion, history and accomplishments is the knowledge of time. It is a reminder of our mortality and pursuit of immortality. It follows us like the history of the world and reminds us of our future. All of this is contained in one object and carried with us when we put on a men’s wrist watch.

The Maurice Lacroix ladies watches are a work of art that are hand assembled by craftsman from the very center of the Swiss watch making industry. Watch making is the perfect fusion of science and elegance.
