House warming party is celebrated when someone moves into their new home. It is the ceremony which was started by the Americans. Normally for this ceremony people take flowers or bottle of wine but I reckon kitchen accessories, wine racks or wine gifts would be great gifts to give away for the new home. The items mentioned above will be in definite use for the new house.

 

The reason for a house warming party is that you celebrate this moment with your friends and family in your new home. This is the time when you will be wished with good lucks by your friends and family. House warming parties has been going along for many years in America but it was recently picked up in UK and Europe. Normally in UK we just invite people for BBQ and stuff when you move to a new home but we do not name it house warming party.

 

Culturally gift ideas differ when buying a present or a gift for someone with a new home. I have seen a lot of Asian families give away kitchen accessories or other home appliances which come in home use as house warming gifts. On the other hand I have seen British family take a bottle of wine with flower bouquet as a gift for house warming. It is interesting on how thinking and giving differs culturally when giving gifts or receving gifts. One my friend got married in an India recently and is now settled there so I went to visit her when she bought her new house. I went to her new house and lives with her in laws, I took a bottle of wine with some flowers, I received an incredible reception, I felt like I was in a 5 star Ritz hotel, it was great. Few weeks ago I went to one my English friend’s new home with a bottle of wine I was thanked in a slightly different way which was great too.
