Summer is back and with it comes the need to evaluate what is in your wardrobe. See what you have that will work and what needs to purchased so that you can be as debonair as you would like to be, whether you are the man about town or kicked back and relaxed.

Cool colors – During the summer time, cool colors are what looks best. If you don’t know what cool colors are, try white. There’s no going wrong when it comes to plain white t shirts, however when choosing cool colors look for the colors that best compliment your skin tone. If you want to look clean and fresh, try going with plain solid colored shirts, but be aware that if you are prone to excessive sweating you might want to go with a shirt with a design on it that will hide most stains. Another warning, leave slogan t-shirts such as the classic “I’m with stupid” to grade schoolers.

Wear a decent pair of shorts – If you heed nothing else in this article, get this…wear decent shorts! Keep the length of our shorts nearer you knee than your waist, and keep them a little loose. Even if you think you look amazing in short, tight shorts, unless you are on the tennis court it is just too much. On the other hand, saggy, baggy shorts are too far the other direction and just look sloppy.

Wear a different belt – A change of belt material is an easy summer wardrobe change for men. Changing from your standard leather belt to a canvas belt gives a more casual look to your jeans, shorts, or khaki pants. Wearing lighter weight denim jeans or dress slacks will also look more summery and help keep down your perspiration level.

Purchase a good pair of sunglasses – Aviator glasses are particularly appealing, as they look good on most men. Not only do a good pair of sunglasses add that certain something to your summer look, they protect the sensitive skin around your eyes and may enable you to look years younger than you are by preventing unnecessary sun damage.

Drop the socks – Summer is a time for bare feet. This is one of those things that everyone knows but most men refuse to follow. No one is exempt from this important fashion tip. If you think you look “coolly eccentric” or “mod” by wearing white socks with your sandals, you’re wrong. Let your toes feel the breeze and warmth of summer. If sandals are your summer standard shoe, please take care of your feet and toes. Getting a pedicure may be considered “metrosexual”, but in both look and good hygiene, caring for your feet is just polite.
